Spicy Chicken Wings with Jalapeno Sauce

Spicy Chicken Wings with Jalapeno Sauce

Chicken wings are a classic that we all know and love. There’s so many different ways to make them that it can almost be overwhelming. Baked or fried, buffalo style, spicy, sweet, sour, you name it. It's all been done. They’re incredibly versatile, and can be flavoured with virtually any spice. With so many options to choose from, figuring out which way to go can be confusing. Don’t worry though, we’ve created the most perfect recipe to follow.

We’re clearly biiiiiig fans of spice here, which is why we wanted to create the perfect spicy chicken wing. One thing that was important to us when making this recipe was that the wings could have a palatable spice level. While we’re personally into extra hot food, it’s not exactly always the biggest crowd pleaser. We wanted to make something that had enough of a kick to add extra flavour, but mild enough that anyone, whether spice aficionado or not, could eat and enjoy these.

INGREDIENTS:

Our chicken wing recipe is portioned out for mostly a single person, so we suggest adjusting the recipe based on how many people you intend to serve!

Our recipe has a few different types of spices which make it unique. For one, we use our Smoke Show Jalapeno Hot Sauce as part of the coating mix, giving the wings a unique spicy and smoky flavour. We also suggest using smoked paprika as a powder spice. The smoked flavour of the paprika really compliments the smoky flavour in the hot sauce, and they blend together seamlessly.

We’ve also included our Herbes de Provence spice mix in the recipe, which is an integral part. It’s a savoury, bright spice that balances out the kick we’ve added with the other ingredients.

Our last important ingredient is the garnish. We’ve suggested garnishing the spicy chicken wings with one of two things: green onion or thai chopped chili. If you’re someone who has less of a palate for spice, the green onion is the route for you. If you want to bring on even more heat, garnish with the spicy chilis, or both!

WHAT TO SERVE WITH:

These chicken wings pair exceptionally well with a variety of different things. We’d recommend going classic with some fries and veggie sticks. If you feel like elevating this dish even more, you can also pair them with our Patatas Bravas, our Cheese Fries, or even our Spicy Kale Chips.
